It’s amazing when I think about the fact that I revamped my site a full year ago (after all, I more or less gave myself this blog as a birthday present last year). Time really flies.
As I was going through the archive a little bit, I came across some of my postings about the Caps from around this time last year. What a difference a year makes, huh? (Now, where have I seen that before…) A much, much better team this year, but still finding a way to lose to Florida, like they did tonight in a disappointing game. However, at least they’re over .500 now (by a game) and a lot closer to making the playoffs than this time last year. A new coach, a couple new players, and a totally new attitude.
In other news, we are, of course, in the middle of election season. (It’s times like these that I wish there was a sports-style fantasy election game or something. I’d love to see if I were winning in the delegate count about now. :-P) Believe it or not, I haven’t really made up my mind who to vote for in November (I’m an Independent, and Maryland had closed primaries, so no primary voting for me), but I certainly have my leanings. Since this is only a mild political sounding board and not a politico blog — and I’m sure that you guys don’t really care — I won’t go into who I’m leaning towards (unless asked, of course). Let’s just say I like two of the current Big Three, and the two don’t belong to the same party.
Oh, well. I hope to post more often this year (I always say that). Let’s see how that works out.
